Time Flies like an Arrow

By: Jacroe April 9, 2009

Here's a mind puzzle for you. Yay mind puzzles! :D

Suppose you have two points, A and B, where A is the location of a bow-and-arrow and B is the location of a target. Now since any two points make a line1, you also have a line AB. Now suppose you take the arrow and shoot it into the target. How much time did the arrow spend at each point between points A and B?

I'll post an "answer" later.

UPDATE: I posted a solution

1 Remember a line is "An infinitely extending one-dimensional figure that has no curvature; one that has length but not breadth or thickness"2 made of an infinite number of points.

2 Source: Wiktionary Definition number 33.

3 Don't you just love these footnotes!

I believe this is a cleverly thought out equation. I have successfully solved this equation and would be most delighted if you were to obtain some more. Thank You!
