So Thursday, I turned 18. That's 216 months or 940 weeks or 6,574 days or 568,024,668 seconds. I remember experiencing the new millennium, 9/11, the hanging of Saddam Hussein, and the election of America's first black President.
I guess you could say I'm no longer a minor (kind of. One might argue I still am until I turn 21). I'll vote in the House of Representatives election in 2010. The other day I was told that I can now legally buy cigarettes. That was an eye-opener. I don't feel too different. Just a day older really.
For my birthday I received several things. One was several birthday cards from friends and family. I also got a really cool lava lamp from the girlfriend. She is cool.
I did get some unexpected gifts. I got scholarship deadlines pouring out of ears. People meeting me at school to tell me about their college and offering me scholarships. I had to register with the draft. Not all bad stuff though because I also got my first debit card.
I do have a few goals this year. First is to finish at least a few of those 501 Books. Second is to meet new friends in college which starts in August. And that's about it.
